Miss Gibraltar 2017 is on its road to the finale, and is scheduled to be held on 8th July 2017. A total of 9 finalists are on their way to compete for the coveted title. We have already briefed you on 8 finalists. Now, is the time to know more about the 9th and the last finalist, Emma-Jane Gaivizo.
21 year old Emma is a General Manager by profession and has a keen interest in fashion. She enjoys Horse-back riding and listening to music. Emma is fluent in English, French and Spanish. She currently manages two family fashion boutiques, and hopes to expand her business someday. The beauty loves spending time with animals. She spends her leisure time taking out her horse and going out with her dog for a long walk.
Emma enjoys the climate of Gibraltar and likes the warm climate of her country. Talking about her motivation behind entering the pageant, Emma says, “After a couple of years of thinking about entering, I finally felt I am prepared enough this year. I am also looking forward to meeting new people and to enjoy this new experience.”
Expressing her desire to win the Miss Gibraltar title, Emma said, “I would be proud to represent my country abroad and be a great ambassador to Gibraltar. I would also look forward to using my title to raise money for charities.”
Miss Gibraltar pageant is produced by Santos Productions for the Ministry of Culture at the Alameda Open Air Theatre. The first ever Miss Gibraltar contest was organised by the Vox Newspaper. Won by Viola Abudarham, the first election of Miss Gibraltar took place at a dance organised at the CFCA hall situated at the southern end of Main Street. One of the shocking facts is that the first Miss Gibraltar was married at the time she won the crown. It was only after the pageant was resumed in 1964, the rules were modified.
