Femina Miss India 2020 will be held later this year where the delegates from all over the country will compete for the national title and an opportunity to represent India at Miss World 2020 stage while the runners-up will represent India at Miss Grand International 2020 and Miss United Continents 2020.
With a list of potential delegates being prepared for the competition, Dr.Lavanya Gunasekar has caught our attention for the title as she seems like an ideal contender for the crown. Hailing from city of Salem, Tamil Nadu, Lavanya is 24-years-old and stands 168 cm tall. She is passionate about representing India at an international stage. She has earned her degree in medical from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University and currently practices as a doctor. She also works as a model and actress.
Lavanya is not new to the beauty pageant world as she was a part of Miss Diva Universe 2020. She was appreciated for her performance but unfortunately did not place at the contest. The doctor diva who has effortlessly maintained a balance between her profession as a doctor and passion being a beauty queen has worked with various designers and brands in the country which has helped her to gain confidence and insights of a beauty pageant.
Lavanya loves to keep herself fit and healthy for which she practices yoga and regular workout. She also likes to spend her free time dancing, performing arts and cinema. She describes herself as a very strong headed and independent woman who likes to do unique things and seeks out creativity. She enjoys inspiring and helping people around her in whatever way she can. Being a doctor it’s in her nature to help people and she tries to do her best in that section. Lavanya appreciates honesty, loyalty and genuine effort and she believes in little acts that adds up every day kind of humanity.
Lavanya also stated that she constantly surrounds herself with people who would bring out the best in her and motivate her for better work in future. She is also very grateful that she has people in her life who have always supported and motivated her towards her journey. She further mentions that she has a mindset of being surrounded by people who have a mindset that support growth and have the desire to do better every single day. Her father is one of the many people who have influenced and supported her.
Commenting on the beauty pageants, Lavanya states that beauty pageants build a different class of women all together, that are strong headed and use their voice to advocate for various causes. They are a platform for great personal and societal development. She believes that she is highly introspective and able to self-reflect which enables her to constantly be mold-able. She doesn’t identify with my failures nor let my successes define me. She wants to tell the people especially the youth to not judge themselves through the eyes of society. Don’t take the time for granted and make everyday count.
Doctor Lavanya Gunasekar may not have placed at Miss Diva Universe 2020 competition but she seems like a strong contender to represent India at Miss World 2020 stage and just like Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar who is also a doctor, Lavanya can bring home the title.
