As reported to earlier that the official search for the Miss World Philippines 2016 contestants is about to start, well it did start. Yes, the general screening of the Miss World Philippines 2016 took place on August 18’ 2016 at the B Hotel in Quezon City. The question however that bothered many were the whereabouts of the girls from the other camps like KF. The percentage of girls who went at the general screening was lower compared to previous years, but the numbers are said to grow in the coming days and this might bring in girls from the other beauty camps.
Model Catriona Gray and Sandra Lemonon were two ladies who stood out in the crowd.
Catorina shared that she looks up to Miss World 2013 Megan Young, who was also under the same group before she won. The Filipino-Australian model also has a blog and sings.
"Well, I held a benefit concert, my project is the Paraiso Bright Beginnings Project. I’m in partnership with an organization called Young Focus and they are situated in Tondo Manila and they help provide free accessible education to the kids there. So I’m raising funds so that they can procure another building to make a school because there are so many children that are in need of education and in their circumstance, they may not necessary have access to it. So I'm working to raise funds to allow that to become a reality for these kids," shared Cationa while talking about her advocacy to Rappler.
Before the screening, Catriona also posted a thank you message on her Instagram page to her supporters.
"I'm so excited to finally announce the beginning of my journey. I'm so humbled and grateful for all the support I've received thus far! Salamat sa lahat! (Thank you everyone) Let's do this!!," she said.
