Group 6 of Miss World 2017 winded up their Head to Head challenge where they answered the final question “Social media can be a wonderful tool but it also has terrible consequences. What are your thoughts on this?” Let’s see who stood out in this group.

South Africa’s Representative Adè van Heerden was in her element in this challenge with her wit and confidence shining throughout. Her video was filled with the exquisite beauty of South Africa and she was outstanding in it. She gave a crisp and accurate final answer -

“Unfortunately social media has created this lifestyle of constant comparison, especially in our youth we’re seeing a rise in anxiety, depression and suicide rates and I feel that’s why it’s our responsibility to use social media in order to inspire, motivate and empower because if used correctly, it’s a powerful and beautiful tool to connect the world”.

Cynthia Menard from Canada looked pretty and her video showed her regal presence and intelligence. Being just 17 years old, she boosts of confidence and is very sure of herself. Her final answer was quite impressive where she said –

“Well social media allows us to reach out to the world instantly. It also allows us to reach out to our loved ones. But it is something that can be a really dangerous especially for the youth because it is something that gives power to bullies. So, we put restriction and we monitor it to make it better and we as a society need to teach everyone how to properly use social media and to put their profiles private. I believe that if we use social media properly, it can be an amazing tool because we can use it to share our accomplishments and something that we are really proud of just as we use it right now to promote the message of beauty with a purpose.”

If looks would be the only parameter in this contest, then Gabrielle Vilela Miss World Brazil 2017 is the hands-down winner. Her personality stands out among the rest and her answer also impressed us where she said -

“Frankie, I agree that social media is the really good tool because we can share things with people all over the world, but that’s a bad thing too because we can share whatever we want, good and bad both included. We can split hate, we can split racism, we can split bullying and unfortunately, I don’t have a solution for that. So, the best thing we can do is try to teach people to love more, share their love and maybe we can split that too.”

A special mention has to be done about Nicole Lisa Gaelebale from Botswana for being utter intelligent and captivating. She rocked the video segment by showing the lovely culture of Botswana in such a beautiful manner. She gave the most well-thought answer to the final question when she said –

“Well, Frankie I do believe that social media is a great tool, especially if you are a young entrepreneur like myself because it’s a great way to market yourself. But I feel like people need to know that with social media we are talking about information, and with information, there’s knowledge and knowledge is power and what we need to know is there’s the good and the bad. So it is up to you as an individual to know how to choose the good and the bad and most importantly we need to teach the children to do exactly that, which will help them to choose the good information from the bad. It’s an individual responsibility. So, you as an individual can make a change.”
