Halley Maas was crowned as Miss North Dakota USA 2016 by the outgoing titleholder Molly Ketterling of Elgin on November 22, 2015. She will be competing at the 2016 Miss USA Pageant, representing North Dakota, where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss USA Olivia Jordan from Oklahoma. Raquel Wellentin was titled as first runner-up in the pageant, Jenna Morlock was adjudged as second runner-up, while Erica Lemna was announced as the third runner-up, followed up by Grace Sproule as fourth runner-up. Completing the semi finalists spot were Emily Simmons, Codi Miller, Bria Dimke, Kate Podolak and Samantha Redding. The Miss North Dakota Teen USA 2016 title went to the beautiful, Paige Mathison.

Other special awards at Miss North Dakota USA were distributed amongst stunning ladies with special subtitles. The NF Interview and Miss Congeniality award went to Sarah H. NF Best in Swimwear and Miss Photogenic title was bagged by Taylor Wellentin. NF Best in Evening Gown was grabbed by Alyssa K.

North Dakota has had only four placements and has never won the Miss USA crown. Their highest placement was in 2014 when Audra Mari placed 1st runner-up to Nia Sanchez of Nevada. This marks North Dakota's first and highest placement since Juliette Spier reached Top 6 in 1996. Two Miss North Dakota USA titleholders have competed at Miss America, the pageant which sends its delegates to Miss World, while other six North Dakota titleholders have competed at Miss Teen USA.

Halley Maas’s genuine and overwhelming winning response suggests, she has taken her title with utmost liability and sincerity!
