Politics in beauty pageants have always been evident. We have often heard people claim that the pageant involved dirty politics; or that so and so contestant didn’t won with dirty politics, so on and so forth. But, little did we know that beauty pageants too will someday make its place in the political world. Calm down, nothing like a beauty pageant in the parliament happening.

The Presidential debate of the USA held on Monday night brought into light the former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, who told Inside Edition earlier this year that Donald Trump referred to her as “Miss Housekeeping” and “Miss Piggy” after she gained weight following her victory in 1996. Alicia’s topic was sparked by none other than Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton.

During her debate, Clinton mentioned that Machado became a US citizen earlier this year and “you can bet she’s going to vote this November.” In response, Trump repeated the question, “Where did you find this?”

Alicia Machado thanked Clinton via her Twitter account for mentioning her in the debate.

She said: "Thanks Hillary Clinton, your respect for women makes a difference. I'm with you.

"I'm so proud to be a US citizen. I'll be voting."

After the Presidential debate ended, the Clinton Campaign has now been armed with a new video featuring Machado. In the video Machado tells her story about the insults hurled at her by Trump. "This is a man who doesn't realize the damage he causes," she says. "He bears many grudges and harbors a deep racism, and he is convinced there are lesser human beings than him."
