On her victory, Masek said, “I am thrilled to see what will come up, next. Miss Maryland USA/Teen USA has been a title I have desired for many years now. I had already competed twice as a Teen and so far twice as a Miss contestant. All 4 times I have been top 5. But to win the ultimate title of Miss Maryland 2017 is something I cannot define.”

Masek, of Westminster, did a musical theater-style dance to the song "Crazy in Love" during the competition. She also answered a question about whether university fraternities should be held accountable for the criminal actions of their students — to which she said they should be.

Masek, 22, started competing in pageants when she was 16. She said she received support and encouragement from her best friend, 2016 Miss Maryland Hannah Brewer.

She further said, “I will be collecting winter coats throughout the year until October/November to donate to Happy Helpers for the Homeless located in Baltimore, in which I work very closely with to serve the military during tours, homecomings and comforting their family through events and care packages.

Maryland beauty is keen to work for the homeless people for the entire of her life. Let’s see if Maryland beauty will be able to engrave her name on the coveted crown of Miss America 2018.
