Lenty Frans was crowned Miss Belgium 2016 after beating 29 other crown contenders on a scintillating night of January 9’ 2016 by the outgoing queen, Annelies Toros, who was also a Top 15 finalist at Miss Universe 2015 held in Las Vegas on December 20’ 2015. The new Miss Belgique queen will now compete at Miss World 2016 or Miss Universe 2016. Stephanie Geldhof was adjudged as first runner up and Emily Vanhoutte was titled as second runner up.
The event was judged by Miss World Belgium 2006, Virginie Claes. The show begun with all the thirty delegates giving an introductory performance dressed in red, navy blue and yellow dresses. The show also showcased the musical performance by Taylor Jones.
Belgium has never won Miss World or Miss Universe crown. The last time Belgium marked highest placement at Miss Universe was in year 1992 when Anke Vandermeersch was one of the Top 6 contestant at the same.
Making a Top 15 cut at Miss Universe in the year when the competition is so nail biting, Belgium has proved the world that nothing is impossible. With proper training and grooming sessions, the newly crowned stunning Miss Belgique will be ready to give a power packed performance in the coming editions of Miss Universe and Miss World in 2016.
