Miss Universe beauty pageant is undoubtedly the most popular among all pageant fanatics. This year’s Miss Universe pageant might be held in the land of beauty pageant lovers, Manila.

“It might be,” Madame Stella Marquez-Araneta told Funfare in an exclusive interview at the Novotel Hotel where 2015 Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach will be billeted during her six-day homecoming. “I was in Las Vegas during the Miss Universe pageant last December but honestly, I didn’t feel anything like that. What I know is that for the past two or three years there has been ‘conversations’ to that effect…you know, that the Philippines would be a nice place to hold the pageant in.”
The first time the Miss Universe pageant was held in Manila, was in 1974. It was won by Spain’s late Amparo Muñoz , who went back to do a movie titled’ Hayop sa Ganda’ with former Miss Universe (1969) Gloria Diaz.
Miss Universe pageant this year has been marred with controversies, right from the beginning. Be it Donald Trump’s comments on Mexican, or countries barging out of the pageant, or the final wrong crowning moment – the Miss Universe pageant walked its way through a whirlpool of controversies and chaos.
