Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel De Leon strongly presented her views on the restriction on Contraceptives. In some of her posts on Twitter she strongly opposed the TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) restricting the distribution of female contraceptives in the Philippines. In one of her tweets she said, “Birth control pills are slowly going away. What will you do when they’re all gone?”

“Let’s take our bodies back.”

She further expressed in two more tweets, “What about women with PCOS, acne, severe dysmenorrhea, irregular period, [et cetera]? What about our freedom of choice when it comes to family planning? What about women's health?” The beauty added.

“You’re not ‘pro life’ if you deprive women of something that's good for our health and our future,” she stated in another tweet.

Basically, the Supreme Court issued the “TRO” in the year 2015, firstly, covering Implanon and related implants. It was then extended to cover pills, injectables, intrauterine devices and other bands. The petition was filed by the Alliance for Family Foundation. Philippines, Inc. (ALFI), in objection of the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) the issuance of certificates of product registration to Implanon NXT and contraceptive tools which they claim may persuade abortions.
