Melissa Flores was crowned Mexicana Universal Michoacán 2022 at the finale of the state pageant on Saturday, 12th November 2022 at the Teatro Obrero facilities. She will now represent the state at Mexicana Universal 2023, the official preliminary to send the representative of Mexico to Miss Universe 2023.
Former Miss Universe Lupita Jones, national director of Mexicana Universal, also attended the finale. Melissa Flores was surely a front-runner since the beginning of the competition. Melissa is 24 years of age and stands 181 cm tall. She holds a license in Psychology and is a fluent speaker of Spanish and English.
Melissa is a crossover beauty queen who represented Mexico at Miss Earth 2018 where she placed in the Top 4 and also won Miss Earth Fire 2018 crown. From her journey at Miss Earth 2018 to now representing Michoacan at Mexicana Universal 2023/Miss Universe Mexico 2023, Melissa has surely come a long way. If she wins the national crown, Melissa will win the opportunity to represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2023.
On winning the Mexicana Universal Michoacán 2022 crown, Melissa took to her official social media as she wrote, “Never allow anyone to limit your dreams, we were born to dream and fight for what we dream of. On time and without haste, desires become realities, and happiness lies in these realities. Thanks to my family and friends, to God who never abandons me and to all the people who have supported and loved me since my beginnings, my word with you will always be “thank you”. To the municipal president Yolanda Mayela Macias H. for her unconditional support to make this dream come true and trust in me. I am happy for all the people I met during this journey, my colleagues, I take a little piece of each one for my life.”
Mexicana Universal 2023, the 5th edition of the Mexicana Universal, will be held later in the year where thirty-three stunning delegates will compete for the national title. At the end of the event finale, Irma Miranda Mexicana Universal 2022 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
