In an event held on 16th December 2017 at the Casa de la Cultura in the capital of Colima, Andrea Toscano Ramírez won the title of Mexicana Universal Colima 2018, the first ever edition of the state pageant.

She will now be Colima's representative for Mexicana Universal 2018 beauty pageant to be held in May 2018. Her court included Alexa López from Colima and Vanesa Hernández from Coquimatlán.

Andrea, who is 19 of age and stands tall at 175 cm, is originally from the port of Manzanillo and is currently pursuing a degree in nutrition at the University of Colima.

Accompanied by family and friends who did not stop applauding, the girls showed their beauty and talent in traditional costumes, cocktail, swimsuit and long gown before the winners were announced.

After winning the title, Andrea posted on her FaceBook, "I feel very happy about the result, officially the first Mexican Universal Colima 2017. For which, there was a lot of effort, dedication, discipline and perseverance. I want to tell you that this is something new for me and I realize that being a Beauty Queen is not easy - it requires the development of multiple skills in different areas.

Now I am elated to represent my beautiful state Colima, which shines for having capable and brave women!

I am convinced that it is time for the Colima people to win the first national crown of the most important contest in our country and I am going to work arduously for it!

I want to highlight my greatest gratitude to all those who were part of this achievement, first of all to God, to the organization of Mexicana Universal Colima, to my parents and family, friends, collaborators, followers, fans and fitness capital for supporting me in this project "
