The 93rd edition of Miss America, i.e. Miss America 2020 is all set to host its coronation night on 19th December 2019 in Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut where contestants from all over America will compete for the prestigious national crown and at the end of the event finale, Nia Franklin Miss America 2019 will crown her successor.
The preliminary competition will consist of private interviews with judges, on-stage interview, talent competition, "social impact pitch". Candidates will not be judged in an evening gown or swimsuit competition. The fifteen candidates from the preliminary competition with the highest overall scores will be announced on the final night and continue on to compete for the title.
A new scholarship, the Equity and Justice Scholarship, will be awarded at the 2020 competition to the candidate, ‘who best exemplifies inclusion and acceptance of these principles in her social impact initiative.’
