The Miss Beauty of the Netherlands organization hosted the grand finale of Miss Beauty of the Netherlands 2022 on 2nd July 2022 at Studio 21, Hilversum, where stunning delegates from all over the country will competed for the national title of Miss Earth Netherlands 2022. At the end of the event, Merel Hendriksen was crowned as the new queen as she will represent the country at Miss Earth 2022.
After being crowned, the new queen took to her social media to share, “I feel like I’m dreaming. As of yesterday evening i may call myself Miss Beauty of the Netherlands and Miss Earth of the Netherlands! I want to thank everyone who helped me during this amazing adventure. I am so proud of all the young woman who made yesterday’s show an amazing experience. I want to use my voice as a voice for the animals, and I am so happy that I’m allowed to do this as Miss Earth Netherlands!”
Merel is 23 years-old and comes from the picturesque Dodewaard. After completing her education, the diva started as a Freelance Interior Designer, a dream come true. She also works part time as a stylist at a clothing store. With the upcoming trajectory, Hendriksen hopes to inspire people to be nicer, kind to themselves, to others and not to forget Earth. “There is only one of each, so it is important that we handle it with care,” she shared.

Also crowned at the event was Miss Teen Netherlands 2022 Floortje Timmer, who will represent the Netherlands at Miss Teen International 2022.
Merel Hendriksen succeeds Miss Beauty of the Netherlands 2021 Saartje Langstraat for the title. Miss Earth Netherlands 2021 Saartje Langstraat competed at Miss Earth 2021 as she placed in the Top 20 by winning Best-Eco video and eventually placed in the Top 8. Netherlands is yet to pioneer its win at Miss Earth.
