The organization of Miss Charm International took to their official social media account to announce that May Thazin Oo will represent Myanmar at the inaugural edition of Miss Charm International in Vietnam.
May was adjudged as the second runner-up at Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 and was supposed to represent Myanmar at Miss Intercontinental 2021, but due to the political situation in Myanmar, she will not be representing the country at Miss Intercontinental 2021 but at Miss Charm International 2021.
May is 19-years-old and stands 172 cm tall. She is a law student from Myitkyina University and is excited about representing Myanmar at the first edition of the beauty competition. May is excited and feels representing Myanmar at the international competition is a great honor and responsibility for which she has started to prepare and will perform her best on-stage to make the people of Myanmar proud.
The diva was one of the strongest contenders for the title of Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 and, with her spectacular performance, managed to secure the second runner-up spot at the end of the event finale. May is a strong, confident, and determined woman who understands the importance of having a platform that can reach out to a wider audience and has been using it to encourage and empower women across the world to work hard and make their own space in the world and achieve their dreams.
May, who was supposed to represent the country at Miss Intercontinental 2021 but will now head to Miss Charm International 2021, understands that there is a lot of hard work and dedication that goes into preparing for the pageant, as the beauty pageants are not just about looking good on-stage but also about talent, communication and what goes on inside and around the country. She is grateful that she is surrounded by people who have always supported and motivated her to keep going and performing her best on-stage would make them proud, and that’s something she aspires to do.
Just like Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 Thuzar Wint Lwin and Miss Grand Myanmar 2020 Han Lay, May Thazin Oo has been active in raising her voice for the right and supporting the people who are protesting in the country. She will be using the platform to empower people to stand up for what is right.
Congratulations!
