The coronation night of Miss Chinese World 2023 was held on 20th May 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where Anie Uson Chen of Philippines was crowned as the new winner. She was crowned by Miss Chinese World 2017 Yin Zhuo Qun from Shanghai, China.

Uson represented the capital city of Manila in the annual pageant that gathers women of Chinese descent from all over the world. She succeeded last year’s winner Kao Man Jung from Taipei, Taiwan. Her court included –

1st Runner-Up: Joan Angelina Miss Tangerang 2023

2nd Runner-Up: Yoong Jia Yi Miss Melaka 2023

Top 5 also included Miss Bangkok Parithaniya Sarinsiyaporn, Miss Kuching Lau Koh Sin.

On winning the crown, Chen took to her official social media as she wrote, “Philippines! ???? We have our first Miss Chinese World crown! We made history! It has been a roller coaster ride for me but thinking that I have the whole Philippines with me throughout my Miss Chinese World journey has been my strength to perform my best in every segment of the competition.”

The pageant was held after a long hiatus since the last physical final of the Miss Chinese World was held in Malaysia in 2017. Despite the challenges faced by the organization as many delegates from China were denied visas to travel out of their country.

Miss Chinese World, founded by Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi in 2005, celebrates and remembers Chinese culture, values, and traditions. It serves as a platform to promote peace, goodwill, friendship, and tourism among the participants, bringing together young talented Chinese women from around the world. This wonderful event allows for the ancient roots of Chinese culture and traditions to be cherished and remembered by translating them onto the stage and bringing them back into the spotlight.
