Daniella Álvarez represented Colombia at Miss Universe 2012 on 19th December 2012 at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. She was appreciated for her performance on-stage but unfortunately couldn’t win a high placement at the end of the event finale.
Recently, Daniella shared on her social media account that she has underwent a surgery where her left foot would be amputated due to ischemia from the navel to her extremities, after surgery she underwent to treat a mass that emerged in her abdomen. The problem started when the diva arrived in Cartagena to quarantine with her family and reported to feel the pain in the left side of her stomach which eventually lead her to think that she had "an inflamed colon”. But after few examinations, the doctors detected a "mass located under his left rib" for which he had to undergo three operations to correct this condition.
The diva put up a video explaining everything and stating that her third operation caused her ischemia from her navel to her feet, and although her legs are fine, both feet were affected and for this reason she underwent a fourth surgery. Ischemia is when the blood stops circulating through the arteries generating cellular stress caused by any transitory or permanent decrease in the blood flow in the capillary. She further explained that due to this condition she has decided to have a fifth surgery in which the doctors would amputate her left foot in order to let Daniella have a prosperous life ahead without any complications.
After her successful surgery, Daniella posted a picture on her social media where her close ones can be seen shared a beautiful and inspiring message for everyone. "I want to share my new version with you." With these words, the presenter and ex-queen of Colombia Daniella Álvarez showed the country the result of her fifth surgery, which was a complete success, as announced by the Cardio Infantil Clinic in Bogotá.
"I love my body just like before, I am happy to be here in this world to overcome all the challenges that come in my new life. I know that from the hand of God I will achieve everything. 'Feet, so that I love them if I have wings to fly 'Let's go forward! "
Her ex-boyfriend, the Spanish Lenard Vandera, shared on his official social media account a carousel of images next to the queen, where he shows her unconditional support and will always be by his side. “You have taught me so many things in life, and now you teach me that even in delicate moments is when you have to be stronger and more positive. What happiness it gives me to be able to accompany you and see that energy and light that you radiate”, wrote Vandera.
Daniella also left a beautiful message for her partner and thanked him for being with her in good times and bad. "I adore you. Thanks to you who have shown me that you are at all good, bad, or delicate moments by my side. I love you.”
