Tajiya Sahay crowned Miss Cook Islands 2019

At the coronation night of Miss Cook Islands 2019 held on 27th October 2019, Tajiya Sahay was crowned the new queen as she became the official representative of Cook Islands in Miss World 2019. Tajiya succeeds and was crowned by Miss Cook Islands 2018 Reihana Koteka-Wiki.

The 26-year-old stunning diva bested six other aspirants for the title as she performed with excellence and grace at the national contest. The production of the national competition was also unique and well-organized. Tajiya also took home the winner awards for Pageant Interviews, Pareuand Best in Evening Gown.The newly crowned queen’s court included –

1st Runner Up - Emma Kainuku-Walsh

2nd Runner Up - Pearl Lazaro

Also at the competition, Maruia Willie won the title of Miss Maeva Nui while Eva Parker was adjudged as her runner-up.

A number of special awards were also given at the contest where Emma Kainuku-Walsh took home the titles of Best in Swimwear and Most Photogenic.  Pearl Lazaro won the titles of Best Traditional Costume, Muu Muu Traditional Gown and Miss Social Media. Best Personality and Te Reo Korero were awarded to Maruia Willie while Miss Talent was won by Memory Richard. Last but not the least, Miss Congeniality was awarded to Brooke Tinomana.

Last year, Reihana Koteka-Wiki Miss Cook Islands 2018 participated in Miss World 2018 and with her incredible performance, she placed in the Top 30. The country is yet to pioneer its win in Miss World pageant.
