The conclusion of Miss Delaware USA 2018 saw the crowning of Sierra Wright from Wilmington and she will now go on to represent her state, Delaware, in Miss USA 2018 pageant to be held next year. She was crowned by the outing Miss Delaware USA 2017 Mia Jones.
Sierra is 20 years of age and was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA 2015 also. She has gone through a major transformation in life. Being a chubby teenager, she changed herself over the period of time and built confidence to stand up with head held high.
Sharing her life changes, she shared, “I used to be humiliated and ashamed to post this picture for the public eye, but now I am beyond happy that I can use this photo to share my weight loss journey and can only hope that everyone is able to take something away from this post.”
Talking about her previous self, the queen expressed her fears in life early on, “Four years ago if someone asked me to step foot on a stage in front of a large crowd in a bikini, I would look at you, laugh and tell you that you are crazy. The girl you see on the left felt lost and defeated. I would stare at myself in a mirror for hours and rip myself apart until I finally got my butt up to do something about it because I realized talking about it and not doing anything about it can only get you so far.”
What kept her going was, “Dedication. Determination. Discipline. The three D's I have lived by and will continue to live by. It took a lifestyle change to get to where I am now. I tried all of the "how to lose 30 pounds in one month" tips and tricks, and it did nothing but damage my body and leave me in an unhealthy state of mind. I failed many times when it came achieving my goals and I wanted to give up more than anything, but when life knocks you down, it's just a test to see if you have the strength to get back up, and I sure did!”
Strong and proud women, she stands with fulfillment, “Today, I am so proud of all of my accomplishments throughout my weight loss journey. I can finally stand tall and PROUD on a stage in a bathing suit and feel my absolute best! NEVER GIVE UP! Stay focused,” Sierra says.
At the same event, Brynn Close was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA 2018 and she will now go on to represent her state, Delaware, in Miss Teen USA 2018 pageant to be held next year.
