Kara belongs to Washington DC which is one of the most popular cities to produce Miss USA pageant winners and title holders. In fact, her predecessor, Deshauna Barber is also from the same state. ara McCullough is a Radiochemistry major graduate who headed to become a Department of Commerce IT analyst and an Army Reserve logistics commander. This is one of the reasons that her compelling words had no mincing and her persona was huge and loved by all.

At the same pageant, Miss New Jersey Chhavi Verg was titled first runner-up and Miss Minnesota Meredith Gould was adjudged second runner-up. Dancing With the Stars' Julianne Hough and Terrence J were the judges for the night. Grooving performances from Pitbull and country star Brett Eldredge added more charm to the already exciting event.

The show featured a performance by Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson ONE, Pitbull and Brett Eldridge. Ashley Graham served as the backstage host. Halima Aden, Carson Kressley, Brooke Lee, Nancy Lublin, Jeannie Mai and Janet Mock were on the judging panel.

The finale started off with the introduction of the contestants, after which the Top 10 finalists for the night were announced (based on their performance during the Preliminary Competition). The Top 10 finalists for the night were –

Alaska – Alyssa London

California – India Williams

District of Columbia – Kára McCullough

Illinois – Whitney Wandland

Minnesota – Meridith Gould

Missouri – Bayleigh Dayton

New Jersey – Chhavi Verg

New York – Hannah Lopa

The Top 10 finalists then walked the stage donning stunning evening gowns and sizzling swimsuits.
