Urvashi Rautela was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2015 and represented India at Miss Universe 2015 on 20th December 2015 at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Even though she wasn’t placed during the pageant, she was appreciated for her strong delegation at the competition.
Urvashi stepped in the beauty pageant world when she was 15-years-old when she got her first major break at Wills lifestyle India Fashion Week. She also won the title of Miss Teen India 2009. She was the show stopper for Lakme Fashion Week and she walked the ramp at Amazon Fashion Week, Dubai FW, Bombay FW etc. At the age of 17, Urvashi was crowned Indian Princess 2011, Miss Tourism World 2011 and Miss Asian Supermodel 2011. She also won the title of Miss Tourism Queen of The Year 2011 that was held in China.
In 2012, she won the coveted crown of I AM She – Miss Universe India as well as the special award for Miss Photogenic. However, she had to relinquish her I AM She crown as she was underage at that time. In 2015, Urvashi participated at Miss Diva Universe and won the title which made her the first and the only woman in the history to win the Miss Universe India crown twice. She also won the title of Miss Beautiful Smile at the Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva-Miss Universe India 2015.
Recently, remembering her days from the Miss Universe 2015 pageant, Urvashi shared few pictures on her social media from the pageant under the caption, “Never off duty. Miss Universe.” Another picture was shared with a caption that mentioned the Miss Universe Organization’s initiative; #UniverseUnited. The actor looked stunning in the picture dressed in a two-piece bikini. She donned a red lipstick and dark eye makeup in the picture as she stepped on the Miss Universe stage for her walk. The actor also shared in the caption how she is missing Paula M Shugart, the President of Miss Universe.
After her reign as Miss Diva Universe 2015, Urvashi debuted in Bollywood as a female lead opposite Sunny Deol in ‘Singh Saab the Great’ and was highly appreciated for her performance. One of the critiques mentioned, "Urvashi Rautela looks photogenic and though she’s a first-timer, she seems confident in several sequences."After her debut she went onto star in various movies and has been appreciated for her bold and experimental fashion choices. She is known for having amazing dancing skills.
Urvashi launched her own app in 2019 which was named after her and gave her fans personal information about her. She was also named as the Youngest Most Beautiful Woman in The Universe 2018 by the government and tourism of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Urvashi also won the Uttrakhand Maharatna Award from the chief minister of Uttrakhand and was featured on Times Most Desirable Women’s list for four years consecutively.
The diva has been trying on different genres and styles to explore her versatility. She was recently seen in a video "Beat pe thumka", a wedding number in the upcoming film "Virgin Bhanupriya", is part of her constant effort to try something that is not regular, she says. When Urvashi was asked about how this song is different from her previous work, she stated that, “I don't agree with people's notions of putting women in a box. In this song, you'll see me doing kathak. I want to have different varieties catering to different genres.This will help me to connect with all the girls who'll be getting married as it has the special nineties vibe to it”.
Urvashi may not beenplaced at Miss Universe pageant, but she surly marked her name in the list of successful beauty queens.
