Finally, the moment the Miss Earth pageant fans have been waiting for has arrived. The crowning of the Miss Earth 2014 and other elemental winners is only a few hours away. Beauties from across the globe are all set to take the stage confident of winning the title for their country.
It all began less than three weeks back with the press presentation held on November 10th with Jamie Herrell of Philippines winning the gold medal for 'Darling of the Press'. Thereafter, the contestants commenced probably the most memorable journeys of their lives as they participated in several tours, shows, seminars, and contests, and travelled to the most beautiful places in the Philippines. The lovely contestants had a hectic (yet fun-filled) schedule as they participated in school tours, mall tours, environmental seminars, fashion show, sports fest, eco-tours, make-up lessons, charity day and several other organized visits.
And then there were competitions - cocktail wear, resort wear, swimsuit, evening gown, talent, best teacher - which were held in different locations, with the 85 contestants divided into three groups and for each contest three medal winners (gold, silver & bronze) were selected from each group.

Also, each group of the Miss Earth 2014 took a bit of time off from their rigid (but fun) rehearsals to cast their votes for the special title of Miss Friendship. England, Switzerland & Zimbabwe won gold medals in their respective groups.
The event also saw the awarding of the ten Best Eco Videos by the Miss Earth Foundation, and the awarded videos were those of Austria, Bolivia, Botswana, Guatemala, India, Nepal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Sri Lanka & Thailand. Miss Photogenic title was also awarded basis online voting with France emerging as the winner.
The girls got together again on November 25 for the National Costume presentation at Green Sun Hotel. This year, the presentation was divided into four groups - Americas, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe, with Panama, South Africa, Indonesia and England winning the gold medal for Best National Costume in their respective groups.
