Miss Earth Belgium 2018 took a turn on July 1, 2018, when another new queen got crowned for the pageant that had previously already taken place. The new crowning took place at the press presentation of the Miss Earth Belgium 2018 contestants, and Miss Exclusive 2018 Lauralyn Vermeersch.

Faye Bulcke was selected by Ken Stevens (national director of Miss Earth Belgium) as a replacement to Mayke Aendekerk who could not compete to the pageant due to personal reasons.

On 27th January, 2018, Miss Exclusive 2018, the pageant which crowns Miss Earth Belgium, held its finale and crowned Miss Exclusive 2018 Lauralyn VermeerschHer runner-up was Mayke Aendekerk. As Lauralyn Vermeersch had already represented Belgium at the Miss Earth competition in 2017, Mayke Aendekerk was crowned Miss Earth Belgium 2018. Although Mayke was excited to compete, she had to lay her plans to rest due to reasons pertaining to her job.

Thus, a new Miss Earth Belgium 2018 was recently crowned, and now Faye Bulcke will be representing Belgium at the Miss Earth 2018 pageant where Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco will pass on her crown to a successor.

Faye is a 20-year-old with a dancing background, and a midwife degree she is working for. This, however, isn’t her first stint at pageantry. Before being crowned Miss Earth Belgium 2018, Faye had won Miss Coast Limra 2017 and had placed as the second runner-up at the Miss Exclusive 2016 pageant.

Belgium is yet to place at the Miss Earth pageant, and it would be interesting to see if Faye can pioneer a win for the country.
