09 Mar 2018 | Camilla Suarez

Miss Earth Guyana 2018 is just around the corner and the organization has revealed its semi-finalists who will be fighting for the title  at Aracari Hotel and Resort.

The winner of the pageant will get the opportunity to represent Guyana at the upcoming Miss Earth 2018 where Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco of Philippines will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

So, without further ado, let us take a look at the eight semi-finalists vying for the title of Miss Earth Guyana 2018 –

Prudence Lam from Linden, 19-years-old

#IAmAnEarthWarrior #MissEarthGuyana #SemiFinalist Meet Prudence Lam, 19, Linden I'm in Love with Nature! I think it is perfection at its best. Hence, I'm very passionate about the environment (the trees, the animals, everything!) I believe that they all should be treated with love and care, so it would give me great joy to be an advocate for it. For most of my life, I've been a very shy and timid person and for years I've desperately tried to avoid any situation that would put me in the limelight. But I realized that that is me 'acting small' and I Will never reach my full potential by just doing that. So I know that this pageant is the perfect opportunity for me to build my confidence and grow personally while helping something I hold very close to my heart.

I love Guyana and with humility, perseverance and a firm understanding of hard work as well as team work, I believe that I can do this.

Anita Baker from Greater Georgetown, 21-years-old

#IAmAnEarthWarrior #MissEarthGuyana #SemiFinalist Meet Anita Baker, 21, Greater Georgetown I want to be the next Miss Earth Guyana because I believe that it would contribute highly to my desire to show women that we are not only strong and brave, but we are limitless and we can affect change of any magnitude in society. Thus, motivating them to be the best of themselves and to always run the extra mile for greater success in every area of their lives. I always tell myself that no one can determine how successful I become in life but myself and in order to activate my highest potential, I must be ready to take risk and face challenges. I would wish nothing else but to pass on that confidence to the young womem of society who may not have much belief in themselves.
