The Miss Earth Malaysia organization along with A Model Search 2022 crowned Dr. Kajel Kaur as the new Miss Earth Malaysia 2022 on 27th March 2022. The diva was crowned by the outgoing queen Miss Earth Malaysia 2021 Nisha Thayananthan.

The newly crowned Eco queen soon took to her social media to share, “I am humbled, I am excited and I am honoured to have received such blessings. The amount of love and blessings I have received is beyond what anyone could have ever imagined. Always do what is right and the universe will go to work. Be brave, be honest and be true. Thank you Malaysia for believing in me! And thank you God for giving me the best team I could have ever asked for. Let's do this Malaysia! I am, your Miss Earth Malaysia 2022.”

Formerly, Kajel was crowned Miss Earth Malaysia 2019 however she was not able to compete in the international pageant. The 26 year-old doctor hailing from Ipoh, Perak is also a host and event emcee. The diva recently shared how she feels that Malaysia too could play a role in addressing the global problem of food going to waste.

She said food going to waste can be better managed by the government with a new law formulated on how excess food should be dealt with, instead of being discarded or destroyed. She also feels that Malaysia should emulate laws in certain developed nations that forbid supermarkets from to discarding or destroying unsold food products, and instead compel them to donate the excess food to those in need.

Dr Kajel Kaur also shared how she has been feeding stray animals for many years and has plans to build a strong community that could carry out this initiative with her. Kaur also said that she plans to be part of Malaysia’s initiatives to protect endangered animals, by getting involved with WWF-Malaysia and their initiatives to protect elephants.
