Tashan Kapene crowned Miss Earth New Zealand 2019

At the conclusion of Miss Earth New Zealand 2019 held tonight at the Waipuna Hotel & Conference Center, Mt Wellington, Auckland, Tashan Kapene was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Earth New Zealand 2018 Jzayla Hughey. Tashan will now represent New Zealand in the upcoming Miss Earth 2019.

The 19-year-old Tashan advocates for animals and against stopping animal cruelty especially Dolphins as it is her favourite sea creature. She also actively participates in cleaning marathons and spreads awareness about clean and healthy environments.

The newly crowned queen's court included - 

Miss Air New Zealand 2019 - Aashna Saxena

Miss Water New Zealand 2019 - Simran Madan

Miss Fire New Zealand 2019 - Charlotte Chapman-Kete

Nine contestants who competed for the national title were Lara Anderson, Simran Madan, India Holder, Charlotte Kete, Leah Wharerau, Aashna Saxena, Brooke Warrington, Shanae Mercer, Lily Spiers and Tashan Kapene.

Best in National Costume: Charlz Chapman-Kete

Best in Swimwear - Lily Spiers

Best in Evening Wear - Simran Madan

Best Judge Interview - Aashna Saxena

Best in Talent - Simran Madan

Best Environmental Video - Aashna Saxena

Best in Congeniality - Simran Madan

Most Photogenic - Aashna Saxena
