The Miss Earth Singapore organization has officially appointed Ruth Isabelle d’Almeida as Miss Earth Singapore 2021. Ruth was appointed by C T Hansen International, the organizer of Miss Earth Singapore to represent Singapore in Miss Earth 2021.
20 years-old Ruth Isabelle d’Almeida is a Singaporean artist, model and beauty queen. She is mindful of the sustainability of the materials she uses as an artist and how they might impact the environment. She believes that nothing on Earth belongs to us and we are merely borrowing from Mother Nature.
After her appointment, Ruth took to her social media to share, “So glad to finally announce to the world that I am your Miss Earth Singapore 2021! I would like to thank everyone who has supported me thus far- I couldn't have done this without you! I will do my best as your lion city queen. Do support me on my journey towards creating a more sustainable future with Miss Earth.” Not new to pageantry, Ruth competed at Miss Earth Singapore 2019, where she finished fifth, winning the Miss Eco Tourism Singapore 2019 title.
She is a very talented artist and her artwork titled ‘Sanctuary’ has been exhibited by Singapore’s National Heritage Board in collaboration with the NAFA, from March 2021 to December 2021. She was one of the fine arts students whose artworks were featured in ‘Drawing the Border of Water (part of A New Sacred)’ in August 2021 at the Peninsula Shopping Centre in Singapore. It was a project collaboration between NAFA students the Migrant Writers of Singapore (MWS).
Ruth Isabelle succeeded and was crowned by Miss Earth Singapore 2020 Chritina Cai, who did the country proud and made it to Top 20 in Miss Earth 2020. Passing on her crown and responsibilities, Cai said, “One of the best chapters in my life where I'll forever keep close to my heart. I get to be part of something bigger than myself and make a positive difference. This journey wasn't mine alone and with that, I thank you all. It was an honour to be your Miss Earth Singapore 2020 and I wish the next queen all the best in her reign!”
Miss Earth Singapore 2021 Ruth Isabelle will represent Singapore at the upcoming Miss Earth 2021 pageant, which is scheduled to be held virtually in November 2021. If she wins Miss Earth 2021, she will pioneer Singapore’s win for the title.
