Beatrice (Bea) Millan-Windorski, representing Wisconsin, was crowned Miss Earth USA 2024 at the finale of the national pageant held in Orlando, Florida on 31st December 2023. Beatrice will now prepare to represent her country at Miss Earth 2024.
Bea is of Filipino-American descent and now holds the distinction of being the first Filipino-American to clinch this national title. She is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in History and International Studies with certificates in Southeast Asian Studies and Political Science.
Bea is a proud Filipino-American who is writing a thesis about Filipino nationals in the U.S. Navy. “There is a small but tight knit community of Filipinos in Wisconsin. I'm also involved with Filipino groups on campus at UW Madison. I'm actually the coordinator of the Filipino Language Table, which is for Filipino students or anyone in the community who's interested in learning Filipino language”, she quoted.
As a humanitarian, Beatrice is an advocate for a better world and envisions a future career with the U.S. State Department or the United Nations. Her advocacy is Open Doors, Open Hearts, which has dedicated assistance to climate refugees. Millan-Windorski started volunteering for refugee communities in Milwaukee at the age of sixteen.
On winning the national crown, Windorski took to her official social media to reveal her emotions in a post captioned, “I am so excited to begin 2024 as Miss Earth USA. I am so excited to continue to platform my advocacy, Open Doors Open Hearts, on the national and international level! I am also so proud to be the first Miss Earth USA of Filipino-American descent.”
Miss Earth 2024, the 24th edition of Miss Earth, is set to be held in Vietnam this year where Miss Earth 2023 Drita Ziri of Albania will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
