Andrea’s pageant journey began in 2017 as she participated in Reina de Macas 2017. She also was a part of Morona Santiago 2017 where she was adjudged the first runner-up at the end of the event finale. After that, Andrea took a break for a year and went to become a delegate of Miss World Ecuador 2019. At Miss World Ecuador 2019, Andrea performed with absolute sincerity and dedication, becoming a strong contender, performing beautifully at all the events and competitions. As the finale night was held, she was adjudged the first runner-up at the end of the event finale.

Andrea’s journey to the pageantry was not as easy as it seems and she has mentioned that in her latest social media post where she stated that self-love saved her. The diva posted her picture with lot of words (insults that a woman must face) written on her bare body with a hard-hitting message and how did she overcome that.  She mentioned that the society is full of insults, attacks which can hurt an individual’s soul to an extent no one can imagine. Andrea mentioned that she had dealt with discrimination, harassment, machismo, insults, comments, and negative people who shattered her illusions and dreams. But the diva’s determination and focus towards making something for herself in the world, helped her to stay firm and believe herself which changed her mentality and my actions.

The diva mentioned that everyone in this world will look out for someone to help them and save them but they fail to look for the only person who can save themselves; themselves. It took her some time but she eventually understood that there is no one in this world or society that can lift you up except you yourself. She stated, “If we make the decision to go forward, be better, love ourselves, surround ourselves with those who transmit light, love and support us, then we will come out of that state that leads us to lose ourselves and not know what our purpose in life is, our goal.”

Being one of the finalists at Miss Ecuador 2020 has helped Andrea to find herself and fulfil her dreams and goals. She has started a self-love campaign, ‘Amate’ which only focuses on uplifting Self-love and self-esteem moral of the people which is needed. Talking about it, she mentioned, “It is something that will continue and will accompany me because it is real, it is my day to day and carrying a message of growth and personal improvement will be something that lasts.”

Lastly, Andrea mentioned that one should try to be true to oneself and find a way to boost their self-esteem and moral in the world which is full of insults and attacks because one right path can help in changing the entire life. With her potential, Andrea will surely be an ideal representative of Ecuador in Miss Universe and maybe win the first ever Miss Universe crown for her country.
