Chloé Mortaud of Albigeois Midi Pyrenees was crowned Miss France 2009 on 6th December 2008 in Puy du Fou, Pays de la Loire. The diva represented France at Miss World 2009 competition where she was placed as the third runner-up and later participated at Miss Universe 2009 where she was placed at Top 11. Chloe was the first winner of the Miss France beauty pageant who held dual citizenship; French and American. The diva received US citizenship via her mother; an African American who had emigrated from Mississippi to France.

Chloe was just 19-years-old when she won the title of Miss France 2009. After a while, the diva moved to the United States where she walked on-stage for various famous designers and collaborated with photographers for magazine covers and advertising campaigns. In 2012, Chloe became a columnist for the program named, ‘Fast Club’, presented by Stéphane Rotenberg. In order to use her experience in the media, she decided to follow a training course with a communication company.
Chloe became the director of events and press officer for Exotics Racing Las Vegas and Los Angeles while pursuing her entrepreneurial business, ‘Mademoiselle Provence’. The diva came up with the idea of ‘Mademoiselle’ after her son, Matis, was born in 2013 and she was always worried about what products she should use on his body which would not react. The diva was never satisfied with the products available in the US as compared to the ones available in France. She spoke to a lot of women around her and felt that every other woman feels dissatisfied with the products that are available in the market especially when it comes to the products that are used for kids.

Chloe yearned for everyday ease of the French lifestyle and her hometown’s natural way of living. This yearning of having home-based products in the United States, motivated and pushed her towards building a brand that would help not only her but other women too. With the help of Helene Marceau, Chloe developed a brand that would help her produce the same French products that she admires and share it with the women of the US. The two entrepreneurs perfected themselves with the ingredients and formulas used to produce products. From the scent and textures to packaging, everything was sorted out to reflect the French touch. That is how a line of natural bath & body products was found to combine pleasure, quality, and affordability into one simplistic brand.
The diva explains that she always had a feeling that she will be stereotyped as “Miss France 2009 or a beauty pageant girl” but rather than being sad or depressed about it, she channelized her insecurities into something she can proudly say that she is hers. She used other people’s doubts to be motivated and worked twice as hard to build something that is safe and helpful for women in the United States. The diva along with her friend Helen kept trying to build the brand ‘Mademoiselle Provence’ to be ready for the world to use. The endless nights, meetings, brainstorming and discussions had tested the patience of the two divas but they were persistent and remained true to their original plan and ideas for the brand and offering the women with quality products at affordable prices. The products that are made under Mademoiselle are a hundred percent cruelty-free and vegan.

When diva was asked about the real reason behind the entire entrepreneur turn in her career, she replied, "In the United States, I was often asked for my French beauty secrets, this" je ne sais quoi ". It was that I created Mademoiselle Provence - simplicity, authenticity, joie de vivre, naturalness - my recipe for happiness. I wanted a brand that looks like me, that brings together my memories of a vacation in Provence and the benefits of nature”.
Today, Chloe Mortaud and Helen Marceau’s ‘Mademoiselle Provence’ is one of the top brands internationally that is available in France, Italy, Croatia, South Korea, Canada, and the USA with new retailer plans on the horizon and two new products launching in Fall 2020. The two women who build up a brand from scratch believe that beauty can be improved if one can keep it simple and authentic. Chloe is also a part of a charity, “The French gave me the chance to realize my dreams. With the association Les Bonnes Fées, I hope to be able to make their own. "
