During the stay, the contestants will go through photo shoots, video shoots and events to prepare for their upcoming finale. The contestants were in for a surprise as they were told to dress themselves every night on their own during their stay to showcase their individuality and personality. “We offer them luggage that is delivered to their home but also a logbook with everything they can bring. This is not an obligation but a recommendation”, as Sylvie Tellier, the executive director of Miss France quoted.

As Miss Champagne-Ardenne 2018 explains, "Personally, I took two or three models of each if there ever is a stain or a zipper problem. So, for example, I have six cocktail dresses.”To avoid astronomical costs, the committees arrange regularly for loans of designer dresses through partnerships. Not just dresses, the shoes are to be taken care of as well.
