Miss France Organization announced a month ago that Miss France 2021 Amandine Petit will represent the country at the 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020 scheduled to take place on 16th May 2021 in Hollywood, Florida, United States, whereas Miss France 2020 Clémence Botino will represent France at the 70th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2021 that will take place somewhere later this year.

The announcement was made via Miss France’s official social media page and after the announcement was made, Clemence took to her social media to share the news by mentioning, “If all goes well, I will represent France at the Miss Universe 2021 contest in December.” She further stated that she took the decision to represent France at Miss Universe 2021 with utmost calm and is hoping everyone would support her decision and support Amandine. Clemence also shared that it takes courage to pursue your dreams and break down barriers.

Clemence is 24-years-old and stands 175 cm tall. She is a student of Master of Art History at Sorbonne. She describes herself as spontaneous, generous and devotes herself to Cuban salsa and boxing, while being passionate about fashion, music, cinema, and piano. The diva has a dreamlike physique and a disarming charm. She is strong headed and very confident.

During her stint at Miss France 2020, she announced that she wanted to concentrate her reign year for a cause that is particularly close to her heart: "the relationship between the generations and the isolation of the elderly". The diva has specialized in Caribbean fashion history. "There are a lot of very talented creators in the Caribbean in general, who are not sufficiently valued and who, however, carry values and know-how," she said.

This decision of designation for the French representative at Miss Universe was made keeping things in mind like Miss France is held in December every year and if Miss France 2021 Amandine represented France at Miss Universe 2021; it could create conflict when she had to crown her successor as Miss Universe 2021 is also scheduled to take place in December. But with this decision, Miss France 2021 Amandine Petit will now compete at Miss Universe 2020 in May 2021 and she can turnover her crown or attend the Miss France 2022 coronation in December 2021.

The 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020 is all set to be held on 16th May 2021 in Hollywood, Florida. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa who has been performing her crown duties with utmost sincerity and honest even in tough times like pandemic will be crowning her successor at the end of the event finale.
