Miss Gibraltar 2017 is on its road to the finale and is scheduled to be held on 8th July 2017. A total of 9 contestants are competing for the coveted title, but only one will succeed as the winner. Let us give you an insight to all the finalists. Our next finalist is 19 year old Janella Robba.

Janella is a Sales Assistant by profession and show jumping has always been her passion since a very young age. This 19 year old beauty speaks fluent English and Spanish. It is her dream to own her own local business. For Janella, family is the most important aspect of her life and just being with them gives her immense pleasure.

Janella loves her country and talking about Gibraltar, she says that Gibraltar is a very close community. According to her, the advantage of being in a close community is that when trouble arises, everyone comes together. The beauty is someone who is very self-conscious. Her idea behind entering the pageant is to build confidence whilst meeting different people. She also hopes to make her family proud.

Expressing her desire to be crowned Miss Gibraltar, Janella says, “As a Gibraltarian it would be a privilege to represent my country abroad and help to raise awareness for local and worldwide charities to the best of my ability.”

Miss Gibraltar pageant is produced by Santos Productions for the Ministry of Culture at the Alameda Open Air Theatre. The first ever Miss Gibraltar contest was organised by the Vox Newspaper. Won by Viola Abudarham, the first election of Miss Gibraltar took place at a dance organised at the CFCA hall situated at the southern end of Main Street. One of the shocking facts is that the first Miss Gibraltar was married at the time she won the crown. It was only after the pageant was resumed in 1964, the rules were modified.
