Meet the gorgeous Miss Grand Australia 2017 Kassandra Kashian

Miss Grand Australia 2017 national final, which was held on June 30'2017 at Doltone House Hyde Park in Sydney, concluded with the crowning of 22-year old Kassandra Kashian as the new Miss Grand Australia. She succeeds Dani Nicole Fitch, Miss Grand Australia 2016 and will now represent Australia in Miss Grand International 2017.

Her court included Maddison Clare (first runner-up), Sophie Grosser (second runner-up), Amelia Conway (third runner-up), and Alana Thomas (fourth runner-up). Notable special award winners were - Maddison Clare (Best Evening Dress), Tahnee McGann (People's Choice Award), Sophie Grosser (Best in Swimsuit Award) and Kassandra Kashian Best Social (Impact Award).

Kassandra has worked in the makeup industry for over 5 years and is now a beauty blogger. She has done Latin American and Ballroom dancing for over 5 years and has also learnt piano for over 7 years. She has also earlier competed in Miss World Australia and Miss Galaxy Australia beauty pageants.

She believes that the three most important traits a titleholder should possess are pro-activity, dedication and integrity. The titleholder should show initiative in organising fundraising activities and promoting the Miss Grand Australia organisation. The titleholder should also be dedicated to their title, the Miss Grand Australia organisation, the Miss Grand International organisation and Destiny Rescue. Sixteen beauties from across the country competed in the finals to clinch the coveted crown and the title of Miss Grand Australia. The 16 finalists were Maddison Clare Sloane, Gemma White, Kassandra Kashian, Sophie Grosser, Jessica Parish, Samantha Mullins, Olympia Hitner, Lynaah Wangui, Tahnee McGann, Emily Cook, Amelia Conway, Sarah Pinkerton, Kerry Anne Peterson, Kaitlyn Walsh, Alana Thomas, and Priscilla Marie.

In 2015, Claire Parker the then Miss Grand Australia went on to win the Miss Grand International 2015 pageant and became the second Australian after Jennifer Hawkins to win a major international title for Australia. Miss Grand Australia is an annual national pageant that aims to find the Australian delegate for Miss Grand International. Miss Grand International pageant has gained immense popularity ever since its launch in 2013 and is being reckoned as one of the major international pageants. Miss Grand International advocates the message of peace through the international 'Stop the War' campaign.
