As reported, the 2017 Miss Grand International pageant will be held in Vietnam. The official press conference for the same was held on 17th April 2017 to announce details about the 5th edition of Miss Grand International pageant. The event took place at the Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel, Vietnam. All the Top 5 beauty queens graced the press conference along with MGI organizers Mr Nawat Itsaragrisil (President) and Ms. Teresa Chaivisut (Vice President).

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vong Duy Bien said that Lasta Multimedia has been authorised by the ministry to cooperate with Miss Grand International for the hosting of this year’s event. Lasta Multimedia has been granted the official hosting rights for MGI 2017. The 5th edition of the pageant will kick start on 5th October and the final gala will be held on 26th October 2017. During their stay, the contestants will travel to Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Binh province; and finally, the resort island of Phu Quoc (Kien Giang province) where the swimsuit, preliminary competitions, and the final gala will take place.

At the same event, Vietnam’s representative to Miss Grand International 2017 was also presented. 22 year old Nguyen Tran Huyen My will represent Vietnam at the MGI 2017. Miss Grand International pageant is the youngest in the category of major international pageants, yet it has managed to gain much popularity in such short span of time. Over 80 contestants from countries and regions worldwide are expected to participate in the Miss Grand International 2017.
