Due to the restriction orders in the country, the selection for Miss Grand Malaysia 2021 was held virtually throughout the month of July in 3 stages of elimination. Lisha completed all stages as the top performer going into the final round. She amazed a final score 80.2% in the final. The remaining candidates in the Top 5 who showed an excellent performance were Malveen Kaur with 72.2%, Poorani Rajoo with 71.8%, Anya Kimberly with 68.3% and Kelly Cahill with 68.0%.

Lishalliny Kanaran was crowned Miss Grand Selangor 2020 on 25th July 2020 and at Malaysia Tourism Centre. She is not new to pageantry as she participated at Miss Grand Selangor 2019 where she was placed as the second runner-up and won Best in Evening Gown subsidiary title. She has worked very hard and believes that her efforts will show during the competition and she is ready to represent Malaysia at Miss Grand International.

Lisha succeeds Miss Grand Malaysia 2020 Jasebel Robert for the title. Jasebel recently represented the country at Miss Grand International 2020 where she won the Miss Popular Vote and got a direct entry into Top 10. An official crowning ceremony for Miss Grand Malaysia 2021 will soon be held when restriction orders are relaxed in the country.
