Laysha Salazar was elected Miss Grand Mexico 2022 in a special ceremony held on 25th August 2022 at the Victoria Hall of the Los Lagos Country Club in Hermosillo. Laysha will now prepare to represent her country at Miss Grand International 2022 in Indonesia this October.

The 19-year-old Laysha Salazar hails from the city of Hermosillo, in the center of the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora. She is pursuing a degree in entertainment business management.

The newly appointed Miss Grand Mexico is no stranger to pageantry. In 2021, she was named Miss Teen Universe Mexico and went on to compete in the Miss Teen Universe pageant in Nicaragua where she placed in the Top 10.

Laysha Salazar is committed to do social work which makes her a strong beauty pageant representative. “Thank God I have grown up in a very loving family that loves to give without receiving anything in return. One of them is my aunt Alma Irene Salazar, who is the founder of Un Día Especial Fonsi and Grupo Reto. Cancer has been in my family; we have lost relatives because of that disease. Thanks to God and my aunt we can help many people who are going through this difficult process. We help them with transportation, asylum, food, everything they need to cope with the process”, Laysha shared.

Previously owned by the Miss Mexico Organization, the license for Miss Grand Mexico has now been taken over by Venezuelan businessman Flavio Falsiroli. Laysha succeeds Miss Grand Mexico 2021 Mariana Macias Ornelas who represented Mexico at Miss Grand International 2021 but remained unplaced.
