Aye Chan Moe has been appointed as the new Miss Grand Myanmar 2017 replacing the earlier crowned queen Shwe Eain Si, who was dethroned due to her controversial 'Rohingya' video.  Aye Chan Moe will now travel to Vietnam to compete in Miss Grand International 2017, finale whereof is scheduled to be held on 25th October 2017 in Vietnam. She now becomes the new successor of Miss Grand Myanmar 2016 Nandar Lwin.

Aye Chan Moe is 24 years of age and stands tall at 171 cm. She hails from Yangon and is a Medical graduate from the University of Medicine in Yangon. Her hobbies include travelling and dancing. While she was studying, she also used to work as a presenter. She is not new to the glitzy world of pageantry as she was declared the first runner-up in Miss Universe Myanmar 2013 after which she went on to become a model and a presenter.

Aye Chan Moe replaces Shwe Eain Si as Miss Grand Myanmar 2017

Aye Chan Moe got a chance to represent Myanmar at the International stage when Shwe Eain Si who was the reigning Miss Grand Myanmar 2017 was stripped of her title due to a video released by her where she blamed the ongoing crisis in Rakhine State on the insurgency led by the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA).

In the controversial video released on 24th September 2017, the 19-year-old Shwe cited her role as a contestant of Miss Grand International to promote peace in line with the pageant's 'Stop the War and Violence' campaign. Due to the video statement, Miss Universe Myanmar organization announced that her “impolite” video violated the rules of the pageant and subsequently she was stripped of her title as the first runner-up in the Miss Universe Myanmar 2017 competition.

While Shwe was already one of the favourites to win Miss Grand International title this year, we are yet to see if Aye can create the same impression.
