Shaniah Dick was crowned Miss Grand Seychelles 2023 in a short ceremony at the Hilton Labriz Silhouette Resort’s gastro lounge at Bel Ombre. Shaniah is the first ever Miss Grand Seychelles to debut her country’s participation at Miss Grand International.

The 19-year-old stunning beauty is currently completing her Social Work diploma and has set her sights on pursuing advanced studies. For her international platform, Dick’s project is aimed at finding children living at the President’s Village at Port Glaud safe housing once they are 18 as most of them are placed there due to their parents not being able to look after them or other social or drug related issues.

Shaniah’s immense passion for nature makes her explores the fascinating landscapes of Seychelles, embarking on hikes and taking in the awe-inspiring flora and fauna that grace the islands. She aspires to be a beacon of positivity and inspiration to those around her. Through her reign, she wishes to create positive transformations in her society. She firmly believing that change begins with oneself.

The event, organised by the Seychelles Pageantry Association, also marked the official launch of the new association. Sponsored by Jouel boutique, Tracy Esparon placed the 14-karat gold crown with 216 white diamonds on Shaniah’s head.

Miss Grand International 2023, the 11th edition of Miss Grand International, is scheduled to be held on 25th October 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where Miss Grand International 2022 Isabella Menin of Brazil will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
