Miss Intercontinental 2019 is all set to host its 48th edition of Miss Intercontinental as the coronation night will be held on 20th December 2019 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Delegates from around 80 countries and autonomous territories will compete for the title. Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman of Philippines will crown her successor by the end of the event.

Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2019 Emma Mary Tiglao showcased her national costume just recently as she aims to celebrate the diversity of Filipino beliefs through her national costume for the Miss Intercontinental pageant. The entire look which consisted of terno made of solihiya rattan weaves, accentuated by metalwork and colourful sarimanok headpiece was referred as “Buklod” which means bond of union.

The national representation of Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2019 Emma Tiglao is designed by Rich Sabinian from Pampanga in collaboration with the PDL (People Deprived of Liberty), Basket weavers of Angeles District Jail Male Dormitory, ICTHS (Information and Communication Technology High School of Sindalan, San Fernando), Rolrens Lanterns (Capis Parol Maker of Pampanga) and Kevin Cayanan for the headdress.

Describing about her national costume, Emma said, ‘“My national costume highlights the amalgamation of two predominant religious groups of the archipelago – the Muslims and the Christians. The balance and harmony among these details showcase a tapestry of truly Filipino artistry and ingenuity, promoting unity in differences”.

The national costume’s making and the entire look was posted on her social media and it was highly appreciated by the Philippines’ fans and well-wishers. Tiglao will aim for a back to back win for the Philippines with reigning titleholder Karen Gallman of Philippines in Miss Intercontinental pageant.
