As reported to you earlier about Kylie Verzosa’s visit to Singapore to start up her advocacy as the reigning Miss International 2016, the beauty queen has already kick started her duties. Kylie’s advocacy aims at benefiting the children and stopping youth suicide and crimes. She aims to help youth suffering from depression and other forms of mental illness.

Kylie Verzosa recently visited the Institute of Mental Health Singapore for her advocacy. Institute of Mental Health Singapore don’t just focus on pharmatherapy but wholistic treatment as well. The institute provides good environment and psychotherapy, preparing the patients for normal life including job interviews, to job placements. Kylie looked really impressed with the institute and also said that the Philippines can use this style of treatment.

"My advocacy focuses on illnesses such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. I was warmly welcomed by the Institute of Mental health as i talked about the need for awareness of these sicknesses,” said Kylie. The beauty queen came out openly about the topic right after she was crowned last October. The reigning Miss International Kylie Verzosa was also invited to talk about her advocacy at the 43rd Annual Convention of the Philippine Psychiatric Association (PPA).

During the 43rd Annual Convention of the Philippine Psychiatric Association (PPA), Kylie mentioned that Suicide is currently the second gravest cause of death for ages 14 to 29.She further added, “I know how it feels, I have been there and have been through it. I want to let them know that there is hope; that they are not alone, that this is treatable and manageable. Please help me help them. I have a voice, they’ll listen to me.”
