The 60th edition of Miss International will be held this December in Japan, as announced by the organization on their official social media. The coronation for the 60th edition was initially scheduled in 2020 but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was moved twice; first in 2021 and later to 2022.

Miss International organization took to their official social media to reveal the news in a post captioned, “Prior to the arrival of all the delegates, we will make sure that each one has been taking part in various activities that promote the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals. #BeautiesForSDGs is Miss International's humble way to utilize our national titleholders' influence in spreading awareness, as well as actively taking part in SDGs initiatives in their own country or region.”

Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. This is the second time Miss International pageant has been cancelled since 1966, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fifty-seven delegates have been selected to compete at the international competition.

While Uzbekistan will be making a debut at the international competition, Cook Islands, Kenya, Madagascar, Malta, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Seychelles and Uruguay will be making a return to Miss International 2022.
