The coronation night of the 71st edition of Miss Universe Canada was held on 14th May 2022 at Meridian Arts Centre, Toronto, Ontario where Amelia Tu was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2022 at the end of the event finale. Apart from the title, the organization also elected Madison Kvaltin as the new Miss International Canada 2022.

Originally from northern Ontario, 24-year-old Madison is an entrepreneur, who started her own "body confident athletic brand," Skilla Athletics, and website design business. She holds a Bachelor of Honours in sociology and business from Queen's University.

“Words cannot express how proud I am of myself for my performance at Miss Universe Canada 2022. I truly presented the most authentic and best version of myself. I wouldn’t change anything about what I did. In all, I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to represent Canada at Miss International 2022. I cannot wait to make you all so proud,” the diva shared.

The new queen strongly believes in the quote by Serena Williams which goes as, “Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another, we’re strongest when we cheer each other on.” She also expresses her gratitude for the support and love from family and friends and also feels that “one of the best parts of pageantry is walking away with forever friends.”

Madison succeeds Miss International Canada 2019 Megha Sandhu who represented the country at Miss International 2019 but remained unplaced. Kvatlin will now prepare for her international stint for the Miss International 2022 competition, the 60th edition of Miss International, scheduled to be held in December in Japan.
