The prestigious finale of Miss Manila 2017 was held on 24th June 2017, and Binibining Pilipinas 2017 alumna Maria Gail Tobes was crowned as the winner. The event was held at the Philippine International Convention Center. Maria Gail Tobes defeated 29 other finalists to clinch the title.
In addition to winning the coveted title, she received P1,000,000 worth of prizes, comprised of a management contract and P500,000 in cash and will also represent the City of Manila in different functions and events. 22 year old Gail is a licensed veterinarian from Northern Samar. The finale of Miss Manila 2017 was attended by Pia Wurtzbach and Nadine Lustre, who served at the judges for the night.
As part of the final Q&A, Tobes was asked what she thought was the biggest problem plaguing Manila's youth; to which she answered, "I think the biggest problem we are facing today, not only the youth but also the city and the community, is the 'ethical' misunderstanding. We are from different religions raised by different families, and we have different views. We just need to respect each other so we could all live together.”
