18 year old Vena Mookram stands tall at 5’6” and is currently a student at The Bishops' High School where she attends sixth form and is in the process of writing her Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination. She aspires to become an entrepreneur while being a humanitarian. Vena’s BWAP project aimed at promoting physical fitness and nutrition in relation to the prevention of chronic disease. She worked with the Ministry of Public Health to help spread awareness on how a healthy lifestyle can drastically reduce the risk of chronic disease. “We should not be caught up so much in our everyday stresses from life that we forget to smile and laugh”, this is what the beauty abides by.

Vena saw entering the Miss World Guyana Competition as an opportunity to boost her self-confidence and become a better role model for young persons everywhere.

At the same pageant,  Manisha Wong-Miss Region Nine was adjudged first runner-up, and Ariell Ghanie-Miss Region Seven was titled as second runner-up.

Miss World Guyana is also known as Miss Guyana and the organisation’s trademark is under Natasha Matindale directorship. Since 2001, the winner of Miss Guyana World represents her country at the Miss World. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent.
