Looks like Philippines has found itself another Volleyball player to show love and support just like they did to Miss Globe Philippines 2018 Michele Gumabao, when she entered the pageant world. Former Ateneo Lady Eagle Therese Gaston has taken the decision to enter the glamorous world of pageantry, and her pageant of choice is Miss Manila 2018.

In an Instagram story, Tuesday evening, Therese posted a photo alongside fellow candidates with the hashtag #MissManila2018.

Since the news caught on like wildfire, Therese posted another message and photo on her Instagram, confirming it.

Well I wanted to wait until the release of our official photos but the news is officially out! Would just like to share what’s been keeping me busy the past month and it’s being an official candidate of Miss Manila 2018 ?this journey is more than just for me but for all the women out there who believe in themselves and their capabilities despite what others or society only see them to be. Let only you define who you are & what you are meant to be.

Therese is a Humanities graduate from Ateneo, born May 7, 1996. She has played for the Lady Eagles for two seasons and was part of their last run of back-to-back titles in Season 77. also played with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Girls’ Volleyball Team (GVT), champion in Season 76 of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

Therese might not be completely new to pageantry as she was crowned Miss UST High School in her senior year, and is the daughter of Miss Asia Pacific in 1984 Aurora Mandanas Gaston.

The grand coronation night for Miss Manila 2018 will be held on June 26, 2018 at the PICC Reception Hall. Don’t forget to catch Therese at the finale stage.
