The 71st edition of Miss Maryland USA was held on 2nd April 2023 at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland where Savena Mushinge was crowned Miss Maryland USA 2023 as she became the official representative of her state at Miss USA 2023. Savena succeeds and was crowned by Miss Maryland USA 2022 Caleigh Shade.
Savena Mushinge is 26 years old from Germantown. The Zambian-American beauty attended the University of North Carolina where she finished her degree in Anthropology. She currently works as a transaction manager and model. Also, she represented Zambia at the Miss Supranational 2022 in Poland.
The newly crowned Miss Maryland USA 2023 Savena Mushinge’s court included –
1st Runner-up – Kennedy Taylor
2nd Runner-up – Taylor Wright
3rd Runner-up – Danielle Shook
4th Runner-up – Lydia Frentsos
Top 11 also included Alexis Lee, C’yana Denby, Gabriella Farago, Jessica Brinson, Natalie Brooks, Rheyna Washington while Top 22 also included Alyssa Frazier, Amarinda Clarke, Ashna Blackston, Azyah Gross, Kalia Harris, Keylin Perez, Lisbeth Andrade, Regan Kellum, Sydney Carr, Thalia Malcolm and Victoria Johnson.
Also at the finale, Madelyn Posey was crowned Miss Maryland Teen USA 2023 as she became the official representative of Maryland at Miss Teen USA 2023. Sanjana Yendluri, Chelsea Chambers, Rhoda Simms and Kate Edwards were adjudged first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.
