Representing Zaragoza in the final of the contest Miss World Spain 2018, which will be held on September 15 in Rota (Cádiz), is 24-year-old Andrea Cristobal.
Andrea Cristóbal, The poised blue-eyed beauty, began her career, like most in the world of modelling, at 17 years of age, and has always been linked to the world of fashion ever since. She did not lose sight of her studies and made her work sync with her university timings. Today she works as a physiotherapist and has a master's degree in Nutrition. Have 24 years. At just 24 years, those are spectacular achievements. Here is her story, as she told a section of the media.
Andrea dreamt of being a model. She moved to Barcelona, to work with another agency and open roads. She had not only campaigned in her native town Aragon, but also in Madrid or Russia. "As soon as I arrived, I received a very strong blow," she reveals. Andrea was diagnosed with spinal cord aplasia and told her family that there was little chance of her making it. She needed a bone marrow transplant, a treatment, and "a lot of faith. (Sic)"
The search for a donor for Andrea went viral in a day, on social networks. But, finally, it was a pharmacological treatment that saved her life. "The doctors did not believe it," she recalls. More than two years have passed the horrid incident, "three months without treatment". Andrea decided that, with all this, 2018 would be her year.
“I wanted to resume my dream, the one I had when this started. I wanted to get rid of this thorn, even though I have my career, my job and my life. So I went to Miss World Spain casting and they selected me. I like the contest because not only do you look for a physicist but, for example, they demand that your candidacy is accompanied by a collaboration in a social cause.” In the case of Andrea, it's easy. She is a volunteer of Dona Médula Aragón.
