Miss Nederland 2020 is all set to host its coronation night on 31st August 2020 at Studio 21, Hilversum where stunning beauties will compete for the national crown and the opportunity to represent Netherlands in Miss Universe 2020. Miss Nederland 2019 Sharon Pieksma will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

While all the delegates have performed well at the competition and shows immense dedication towards winning some of the them stand out with a little more focus and strong marking. We’ve selected four delegates who we think have potential to win the national title and represent Nederland at Miss Universe 2020 stage. So, let’s look at the favourites.

Sigrid Laura

Sigrid Laura is 23-years-old and stands 183 cm tall and studies Business Administration in Amsterdam. She is one of the fan favourites and a front runner to win the title and represent Nederland at Miss Universe 2020 stage. She wants to use the platform given to her to empower women and raise awareness against the domestic violence that a woman deals with. She is experienced and can also sing, dance, and has persuasive communication and presenting skills. She hopes to be a voice for those who do not dare to speak and has become one of the favourites for the title. She is beautiful, confident, and determined to win the title and represent the country at Miss Universe 2020 stage and stated, “I want to remove the shame of domestic violence, create even more awareness and inspire people from personal experience to heal properly so that they can then fully and be able to resume their lives full of strength! ". She likes to spend time in nature in order to rejuvenate herself.

Sharida Senior

Sharida Senior is 27-years-old and recently completed her Psychology degree and researched the effect of hatred on cognitive functions. Her goal is equality is important for everyone and wants to use the platform to advocate about the same. She has a lot of international modelling experience and has participated in the ‘Love Island’ program. She is one of the divas who dreams to do everything from writing a book to working as a super model in New York city etc. She is cheerful and hopes to stimulate everyone to be themselves and to fight against inequality. In one of her social media posts, she has opened about her getting bullied in university which had put her in a position where she started to hide about her background but recently, she mentioned, “I started to finally appreciate myself. Now I can say that the experience made me stronger and as a Dutch woman I am prouder than ever of my Surinam roots!” The diva believes that every human being is unique and beautiful in their own special way and love can build people up and gives the strength. She feels like that’s what we need to create a better world for all of us, a world without the fear of not being good enough.

Rosalin van Tuijl

Rosalin van Tuijl is 26-years-old and is an operative assistant (scrub nurse) who is one of the favourites for the title. She explains, “In recent years I have learned to believe in myself, because believe me I have not done that for a long time. But at this point in my life, I am a strong confident woman and proud of what I have achieved on a personal level. Believe in yourself and stay yourself!” Even though she has no modelling experience, she has performed exceptionally well at every pre-pageant activity and wants to show that people must believe in their own strength. Rosalin also draws strength from the current crises, especially in healthcare, togetherness, strength, and hope for the future. She is strong, confident, and focused towards winning the title and her charming personality she can impress anyone at the stage.

Sanne ten Kate

Sanne ten Kate is 22-years-old and knows everything about retail and entrepreneurship! She loves swimming and water, loves fitness, and finds Miss Netherlands a very special experience. She believes that she will get to learn a lot during the competition that will help her post pageant as well.  Like many students today, she too suffered from the pressures of society for a while but she has worked hard and didn’t let the pressure get into her head or life. She hopes to encourage everyone to do what you find fun and interesting, not to be influenced by others too much and to raise the alarm in time if it becomes too much. “If I had always done what others expected of me, I would be here. not now. Believe in yourself, take the time to find out what really makes you happy and don't let our society rush you too much!” the diva added.
