Miss Nepal organization has officially begun its search for the next Miss World Nepal queen to represent the country on the international platform in Miss World 2018.
On 22nd January 2017, Miss Nepal organization held a press conference where they announced the opening of Miss Nepal 2018 applications to crown the representatives of Nepal for Miss World 2018, Miss Earth 2018, Miss International 2018, and Miss Asia Pacific International 2018. This year also the pageant will be organized by The Hidden Treasures organization.
The reigning queens of Miss Nepal 2017 pageant, Miss World Nepal 2017 Nikita Chandak, Miss International Nepal 2017 Niti Shah, Miss Earth Nepal 2017 Rojina Shrestha and Miss Asia Pacific Nepal 2017 Sahara Basnet graced the event with their presence. They shared their international experience with everyone and also talked about what they learned in their reigning journey.
Sahara Basnet shared how she got to experience the lovely hospitality of Philippines in Miss Asia Pacific International 2017, and how she learned about their beautiful culture. Rojina talked about how climate change is an international phenomenon today and not just a problem in Nepal. Niti thanked all her guiding angels on her journey and said how Miss International pageant is a platform of sharing culture, tradition and diversity of one’s nation with another.
Miss World Nepal 2017 got nostalgic while talking about her reigning year. “There was not much clarity in the life of how I’m going to take life further. That is the time when I got this platform of Miss Nepal and it has been very helpful to me and right now it makes me feel nervous when I am speaking as the reigning period is just going to end. The kind of opportunities that I received through Miss Nepal is something special and I am excited to see who’s going to be the Miss Nepals of 2018,” she said teary-eyed.
The auditions for the 23rd edition of Miss Nepal pageant will be held from 4th February 2018 to 10th February 2018 in Birgunj, Birtamod, Dhangadhi, Dharan, Chitwan, Pokhara, Butwal and Nepalgunj. The finalists from around 25 states will undergo an extensive training program to compete in the finale which will take place on 11th April 2018 at Hotel De Annapurna, in Kathmandu.
